Budapest – comprising Buda and Pest, is an up and coming city in Europe. Located in the centre of Hungary, this is where you will find the magnificent government buildings, grand architecture and views of the Danube River, which flows from north to south through the city. Buda lies to the west, and is where you will find the Royal Palace. Pest is to the east, and represents the commercial half of the city. Together they form Budapest. For the more active traveller, the Buda Hills are the perfect place for a long ramble, or a cycle-ride through the forests. Nature and relaxation combine in the magnificent Margaret Island park. It even has an open air theatre with ballet and opera performances in the summer time. The City Park is where you will find the largest open green area in the city. It’s also home to the city fun fair, and the city zoo – making it a great place to spend a day, or two!
