Capital city attracts many visitors
Copenhagen is the largest city in Denmark, and attracts many tourist and business visitors every year. Amongst the most popular attractions, and perhaps the most famous is Tivoli Gardens. Entertainment and leisure activities in the park include venues for Jazz and classical music, an amusement park, and more than 40 restaurants. Good food and great beer
Another reason people visit Copenhagen is to see the Carlsberg Brewery, where self-guided tours end with a satisfying beer tasting session. For outdoors enjoyment take a stroll through the Stroget pedestrian shopping area, where you will also find an abundance of bars and restaurants. Another top tourist spot is the Christiansborg Palace. Here you can enjoy guided tours of the parliament building, and see the Royal Reception Rooms, including the spectacular Great Hall.
Out and about with the family
No visit to Copenhagen is complete without going to the Amalienborg palaces, Amaliehaven and Amalienborg Square. Every day at midday you can watch the changing of the Royal Guards at the Amalienborg palaces. If you are visiting with children, be sure to take them to the bronze statue of the Little Mermaid.
